He dances, he sings, he acts. But does that make actor Hugh Jackman gay? Most definitely not.

The Aussie actor, currently on the promotional trail for his upcoming film "The Wolverine", has once again thrown the closet doors open wide in an interview to reveal he's a just talented family man in love with his wife and children.

Talking to 60 Minutes, Jackman said: "If I was [gay], I would be [gay]."

While the rumours are mildly irritating for Jackman, they're worse for his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.

"I don’t think – it’s to me not the most interesting thing about a person anyway, but ah - I do obtain frustrated for Deb, 'cause I see Deb depart 'Ah,this is crazy'."

And Furness's take on the continuing gay rumours that plague her husband? "It is just wrong, it’s appreciate, it’s a lie," Furness said.

"It’s just – the bottom line, so it’s just offensive. If he was gay, fine, he would say he’s gay.

"It has gotten so out of whack that they – it’s stupid, yeah, it’s annoying, because it’s not true."

The pair hold been married for 17 years, and have two adopted children together.

"He's been gay so many years": Deborra-Lee Furness jokes about Hugh Jackman's sexuality rumors

Hugh Jackman and his now-ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, have always been ready to shut down rumors about Jackman's sexuality throughout his career. In a 2013 interview with Australia's "60 Minutes," Jackman expressed his frustration over the steady speculation. He stated: "It's, to me, not the most interesting thing about a person, anyway." Furness, who was also present for the interview, added: "If he was gay, fine, he would say he's gay. It's annoying because it's not true."

However, in a separate interview with the Hollywood Reporter that same year, Jackman shared that the rumors about him being same-sex attracted had started to take a toll on his then-wife. The "Greatest Showman" star revealed: "Just recently, it bugs her... She goes: 'It's big. It's everywhere!'" Furness would often peruse the internet and spiral afterwards.

During a Q&A on "Anh's Brush With Fame" in 2020, Furness joked about the chatter surrounding Jackman's sexuality. She quipped: "He's been gay so many years. I was gay, too. You know when I did 'Shame'? I was male lover. They were shocked when I got married." However,

For two decades Hugh Jackman's sexuality has come under question, with the rumour mill going into overdrive when he split from his wife last year. 

This week, his alleged new romance was revealed, with sources saying that Jackman is now dating Broadway legend Sutton Foster, 49, and they have been 'spending all of their free time together'. 

Despite repeatedly stating that he is heterosexual, baseless rumours that he is lgbtq+ have  swirled for years, with Jackman fuelling the whispers himself by poking fun at the speculation. 

He has also addressed the origin of the claims, believing they date back to a role he played in 2003. 

At the time, Jackman, 56, was happily married to Deborra-Lee Furness, 68, but was playing openly gay singer-songwriter Peter Allen in The Teen from Oz on Broadway.

After Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness stunned the entertainment earth last year by announcing that they were divorcing after 27 years of marriage, the “Wolverine” actor was said to be productive on a memoir, in which he promised to “open up about his life like never before” and contribute some “bombshell secrets.”

Could one of those “secrets” be that Jackman has create love again with a Broadway co-star? And could he share that the romance began in the waning years of his marriage to Furness?

Such questions are now swirling around Jackman and stage and TV actor Sutton Foster, his co-star in the hit Broadway stage revival of “The Music Man,” which ran from late 2021 to early 2023. Discuss about a intimacy between the Australian actor and Foster gained traction this week after it was reported that she had filed for divorce from her screenwriter husband, Ted Griffin, after 10 years of marriage.

Page Six reported that Foster, 49, filed for uncontested divorce in Novel York County Supreme Court Tuesday, “amid buzz she is moving on” with Jackman, 56.

Rumors that Foster’s marriage was “on the rocks”
