Obituary: Tenor David Rendall Dies at 76

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida has announced its 15th Anniversary Season, “SHOUT! Let Your Voices Be Heard!” and will highlight concerts that fuse tradition with bold, vibrant performances.
The season opens with “A Holiday Extravaganza.” The first performance will be held at Sunshine Cathedral, followed by a second show at Unyielding Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. The ensemble will perform timeless holiday classics and hidden gems. Distinct guest artist, dancer, songwriter, and influencer Todrick Hall will be present.

The season celebration continues with “Broadway Blockbusters” at The Parker. The concert will pay tribute to the most iconic songs from Broadway, including the tunes that acquire transcended the stage to become part of pop culture.

In honor of Pride Month, the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida will present Dazzling Divas, a tribute to some of the biggest women singers of all-time, at Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center for Performing Arts inception at 8 p.m. on June 21.
Under the direction of conductor Gabe Salazar, the chorus will take to the Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker stage to honor these superstar women who have publicly and unapologetically stood behind the Queer community.
Since its inception, key decisions regarding the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida’s mission and direction have been made collaboratively with its membership, rooted in a steadfast commitment to transparency. This inclusive approach has enabled numerous chorus members to contribute their artistic and administrative talents, helping to establish a reliable foundation for the young group.
Additionally, the chorus established a “We Care” committee to support members facing serious illnesses or personal losses. A white stool, engraved with the names of men who have passed away, is placed on stage at every performance as a heartfelt tribute.

The Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF) brings live music and fun to the community through large-scale, main-stage concerts in high-profile venues, community-based engagements, and volunteer projects. With more than 185 singing members, the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida is the southeastern United States' largest gay men's chorus and one of the country's ten largest group LGBTQ+ choruses.
