“I think it’s really toxic for kids to be looking up to something that’s shiny and perfect, never touching drugs and alcohol – that’s not realistic,” says ROLE MODEL about what it means to, well, be one.
“Listeners and kids are getting a lot smarter, and I just want to be open to them and be real.”

23-year-old Tucker Pillsbury, better established by his stage name ROLE MODEL, has a register deal with Interscope Records, TikTok fame, over 400,000 followers on Instagram, and songs topping the charts. It seems like the burgeoning artist has it all.
But today, he’s in a reflective mood. He just got back from his daily, silent hike on a private trail tucked into the Hollywood Hills. Like all of us, he’s had to cope with the unused reality of the global pandemic, thinking about his past and present, and making sense of it all.
Tucker was born and raised in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, a tiny, sleepy beach town near Portland. Growing up, he had no exposure to any sort of music scene in such a remote setting. “No one made music in my school,” he tells Very Fine Light. “No one recorded themselves, no one made beats, nothing.” And yet, Tuc

Emma and Tucker kept their relationship relatively calm until they pair officially “hard launched” their romance in a GQ interview posted on Valentine’s Day in 2023.

FROM THE VAULT: ROLE MODEL IS THE MODERN DAY “BOY NEXT DOOR”
I’m experiencing nostalgia with my eyes half way shut and my ears open. It’s 2AM, and I just came advocate from a party in the East Village. I’m feeling numb, kind of inebriated and mournful I didn’t go home with anyone. I find myself listening to ROLE MODEL’S “Rx” album. I’m in my room, laying in bed recounting my late hours as my LED lights rotate into dripping watercolor paint with a soothing pop ballad in the background. My mind drifts to a simpler time as “who hurt you“ plays in the background. I am reminded of high school dances, kissing a boy behind the bleachers, getting high for the first hour and having my heart broken for the first time. Melancholy seeps in as “can you say the same“ plays.
An amalgamation of sounds and tunes that feel dreamy and woozy, which really seems to pair my current vibe. Everything’s blurry but the feelings are actual. Singer and songwriter Tucker Pillsbury aka ROLE MODEL is prescribing doses of self reflection and unrequited love in his latest album “Rx”. No matter what’s your drug of choice, love will always be the most addictive. Hold you had your fix as of la
Gen Z is the least religious generation to date.
About one-third of Gen Z have chosen to opt out of religion. Grace Semler Baldridge (who simply goes by their middle name Semler) is one Gen Zer leading this new, progressive wave of Christianity.
Semler has three basic words to describe themselves: “folky, unholy, preacher’s kid.” Semler is a superstar in the world of contemporary Christian music. Their latest album, “Preacher’s Kid” hit No. 1 on the iTunes Christian tune charts back in February.
They often use their platform to explore the intersections of faith, human rights, and sexuality. Through their music, they continue to show the queer group how living authentically can coexist with the Christian faith.

Semler is a piece of a larger new, progressive wave of Christianity, pushing forward love and acceptance within their faith. Many would argue that we are in a “post-Christian era” because of the disconnect between the history and attitudes of the Christian community and the current progressive values of younger generations. Young Christians, fancy Seml
