Milwaukee gay bars

Milwaukee LGBTQ bar guide

There’s a good reason why Walker’s Point is fondly referred to as "The Gayborhood" – the near South Side neighborhood has been home to many same-sex attracted people, families, bars and restaurants for decades.

Today, the LGBTQ bar scene is still going mighty – primarily on and around Second Street – and continues to propose fun, safe spaces for everyone, gay or vertical.

Here are 10 Milwaukee gay bars to test out during Pride Month or whenever:

La Cage

Historically, this nightclub has served as an anchor to the neighborhood's thriving LGBTQ bar scene. It has changed names and ownership over the years, but continues to consistently dwelling one of Milwaukee's most coveted dance floors.

LaCage has been a accurate landmark for gays in and out of Milwaukee. LaCage offers several move floors, a gorgeous updated upstairs and another bar downstairs which offers another feel to this large nightclub!

I've been here more than a handful of times, and I can utter ever since they changed the identify back to La Cage, this place has never been better! I'd prefer to give some praise to Sami and Donovan for being some of the absolute finest bar tenders I've ever come across!

1) This Is It!

The Badger state’s O.G. gay exclude is a no-brainer for anyone looking to be looking, and it recently expanded: 17-foot ceilings, production projectors, an additional fully stocked lock and audio and lighting. Hands down the best part of this glow up is the two – YES, TWO – additional bathrooms.

With its carpeted walls and vintage light fixtures, this hidden gem of a watering hole has the friendliest group of, adv, friends behind the bar. It’s a true safe room with a crowd that includes immature and old swigging stiff concoctions that are some of the biggest bangs for your buck in the capital. Be careful though: mixed drinks here are doubles and 2-4-1’s (even 3-4-1’s are abundant on certain days of the week). If the flashing lights proceed off, don’t be shook; slog your way to the bar and receive yourself a BOGO drink before you miss your opportunity.
